Hot on the heels of the US launch of Bohemia Interactive's Armed Assault comes CodeMaster's attempt to stir up enthusiasm for the 'official' sequel to the fantastic 'Operation Flashpoint'. Bohemia lost the right to use the 'Operation Flashpoint' name when they dropped CodeMasters as their publisher a number of years back. Now the Codies are attempting to turn the community goodwill generated by Bohemia into some cold, hard green with the 'official' sequel..
Codemasters claim to have been in pre-production on the game (with a sizable team in tow) for the past two years. It remains to be seen if Codemasters can replicate the level of realism we expect from an Operation Flashpoint title. It's a title that remains very close to my heart with countless hours spent doing all things 'Flash' and 'Point' related. However, the hole in my heart that used mark it's absence has been ably filled by it's spiritual successor Armed Assault, leaving us to wonder "what's in a name"?
